Weetwood Studios is a work space for a small group of artist-designers in the heart of Far Headingley. The studio also has a flexible, public space which can be used for exhibitions, classes, open days and special events. Based in a former school house, Weetwood Studios is an inspiring place for makers and anyone interested in art and design.

Exhibitions

Weetwood Studios hosts exhibitions of work by its resident artist-designers and other invited artists and craftspeople. Exhibitions can be viewed every Saturday, 10am - 6pm and most times during the week while the studios are being used.

Courses and Events

Exploring Drawing 

Learn techniques to use over and over to unlock the artist within.  Explore a range of traditional to unusual drawing materials.

Sat 24th April - Sat 29th May

1.30-3.30pm

5-week course (no class 1st May Bank Holiday)

Suitable for beginners and anyone wanting to try new approaches to drawing

     

Drawing the Figure

Loosen up, try new techniques and media, be inspired by the figure.  This is a taught course with specific exercises to train you to look, develop your style and hone technique.

5-week course (can be booked as extension of 'Exploring Drawing' course)

Life Drawing Group

Six-week block, every fortnight
Sunday 17th January - Sunday 28th March 
1.30-3.30pm 


All abilities welcome. This is an untutored group - just come and draw! Basic materials provided along with coffee/tea and biscuits.


£10 per session or £50 for the block.

Kathryn Welford

Kathryn paints, draws and makes collages.  She creates imaginative landscapes which are inspired by images found in old books, postcards and other random sources.  The landscapes or visual stories which she makes are familiar but don't quite make sense.  She also paints and draws portraits in a variety of media.
